Vincci destinations that are perfect to enjoy the Cultural Heritage of Spain’s Semana Santa

Vincci Albayzin - Granada

Easter Week, or Semana Santa as it’s known in Spain, is synonymous with culture and tradition. It’s a time of celebration that represents the identity of Spain, and that is one of the reasons it has been declared a Representative Manifestation of Intangible Cultural Heritage. This declaration comes, moreover, in the European Year of Cultural Heritage, an initiative to which Vincci Hoteles is committed, with the hotel chain identifying and promoting over the course of the year its extensive cultural heritage, with all the activities in this area being identified with the hashtag #BeCulturalVincci.

We want you to share in this tradition too, and so we’re inviting you to enjoy Spain’s Semana Santa with us, in our hotels, in those cities where Easter is one of the symbols of identity. In many of our hotels, as well as there being characteristic elements of the location and the celebrations, along with the finest gastronomy, you’ll be able to enjoy some of the processions without even leaving the hotel. All this, combined with the design, comfort and incredible service at each of the hotels, ensures you’ll enjoy a unique experience.

 Vincci La Rábida 4* (Seville)

In Seville, Semana Santa means emotion and passion. If you don’t want to miss a single detail of the processions, come to Vincci La Rábida 4* (Calle Castelar 24); many of the processions pass right by its door. The hotel, designed around an 18th century mansion house, is located in the centre of the city, just a stone’s throw from Seville cathedral.

What’s more, over the week, starting on the Friday of Our Lady of Sorrows, we’ll open the Cofrade Bar, located in the Sala Castelar, which will allow you to experience Seville’s Semana Santa to the full. You’ll be able to savour a traditional dish of Pringá de la Abuela, Potaje de Vigilia and traditional torrijas, while ensconced in the incense laden atmosphere so typical of these days.

And for those who prefer to see the city from the heights, tucked away on the roof of Vincci La Rábida 4* is the restaurant “El Mirador de la Rábida”, where you can enjoy carefully prepared culinary specialities and enjoy unbeatable views of the cathedral.

 Vincci Albayzín 4* (Granada)

Over Easter the hotel will treat the guests staying there to a tapa in the cafeteria, with options including home-made croquetitas, a mini flamenquín with jabugo ham and cheese or a Spanish omelette, along with other more avant-garde recipes, such as cannelloni au gratin on a tomato coulis or a cod tosta with tomato confit.

Vincci Selección Posada del Patio 5* (Málaga)

Uniquely attractive for visitors and locals alike, Semana Santa in Málaga dates back to the 15th century Catholic Monarchs, Queen Isabella I and King Ferdinand II. And at Vincci Selección Posada del Patio 5* (Pasillo de Santa Isabel 7) you can experience its very essence, because most of the processions in the city pass close to the hotel, with many going right by the its door.

Vincci Selección Posada del Patio 5* is built on the site of two ancient buildings: one of these was one of the last posadas (old style inns) that existed in Málaga, while the other was a residential building, of which the façade from the start of the 20th century has been preserved. Under the two buildings were found remains of Málaga’s Arabic wall, together with remnants of the old Puerta del Río.
