Vincci Corporate HotelsThe jury of XI Bullfighting Award “Al Detalle para el Recuerdo” presented by Vincci Albayzín 4* has granted this year’s distinction to the bullfighter David Fandila “El Fandi” for his generosity in making possible the historic shared banderillas performance alongside Morante de la Puebla and Pablo Aguado during the fifth bull of the afternoon, within the context of an emotionally charged performance at the 2026 Corpus Fair.
The XI Bullfighting Award “Al Detalle para el Recuerdo” of Vincci Albayzin 4* has chosen this year to pay special tribute to the shared banderillas performance by bullfighters David Fandila “El Fandi”, Morante de la Puebla, and Pablo Aguado during the 2026 Corpus Fair, granting the award to the Granada-born matador for his generosity in making this historic moment possible, “within the context of an afternoon and a performance before the fifth bull that was filled with emotion.”
The award jury, established by the hotel chain Vincci Hotels to recognise the most outstanding moments of the Granada Corpus Fair bullfighting celebrations and convened at Vincci Albayzín 4*, was chaired by Francisco Martínez Perea, with Francisco Puente Medel serving as secretary. The jury also included Fernando López Justicia, José Álvarez Baena, Manuel Ferrón Codina, Julio Gonzálvez Cañizares, Antonio Huete Herrera, M.ª Dolores Martínez Baca, Francisco Matas-Linares Machaco, José Rogelio Muñoz Oya, Purificación Rodríguez Márquez, Antonio Fco. Serrano Palomar, Julián Tomás García Sánchez, and Rafael Calero.
The award particularly recognises one of the most memorable moments of this year’s fair: the shared banderillas performance by Morante de la Puebla, David Fandila “El Fandi”, and Pablo Aguado during the fifth bull of the afternoon. This unusual and remarkable image brought the crowd to its feet and will remain one of the defining memories of the 2026 Corpus Fair. On a day that saw a sold-out crowd for the first time in seven years, the Monumental de Frascuelo bullring hosted an afternoon full of emotion, artistry, and passion.
The “Al Detalle para el Recuerdo” Bullfighting Award presented by Vincci Albayzín 4* seeks each year to support and recognise the work of those participating in the fair. Previous recipients have included Juan Ortega and José Tomás, among others.
The awards were created because, as Rafael Calero explains, “one of our greatest passions has always been the world of bullfighting.” For that reason, “we are also extremely proud that many of these bullfighters choose to stay with us, given our admiration and deep respect for their profession.”
