Vincci Talks
In this new season of our #podcast Vincci Talks, we delve into discovering each VINCCI DESTINATION.

Every city where Vincci Hotels is present is the perfect setting to welcome our guests and offer them wonderful experiences. But we don’t want to discover the cities just any way; we’ll do it alongside local and renowned personalities in those places—and in their fields—who will reveal the other side, the one that lets us know a place like a local and not as a tourist, to experience each destination uniquely.

In this new episode, we immerse ourselves in the unparalleled atmosphere of Málaga, a city that is not only a cultural reference in Spain but also a leader in tourism, innovation, and technology. Salvador Moreno Peralta, renowned architect and pioneer of modern urbanism, and Javier Ferrer, manager of the Carmen Thyssen Museum, share with us their vision of Málaga's cultural boom and the must-see spots to truly experience the city.

Join us in the new episode of our Vincci Talks, recorded at our wonderful Hotel Vincci Selección Posada del Patio 5*, where we will explore what The Art of Living Málaga is, its history-filled streets, its art, and its soul.

Our first guest is Salvador Moreno, one of the most prominent figures in Spanish urbanism. For him, the art of living, in general, lies in “aligning one’s life with the reasons of the environment one is in”. For Salvador, living and strolling through Málaga is rediscovering a magical city that perfectly combines its roots with modernity, which is why he gives a recommendation especially for travelers discovering the city for the first time: “to get lost”, a very particular technique to explore the thousands of different perspectives Málaga offers.

Our second guest, Javier Ferrer Morato, a law graduate from the University of Málaga and manager of the Carmen Thyssen Museum of Málaga, is a great authority to immerse us in the current cultural landscape of Málaga.

Javier is clear: “The Art of Living Málaga is greatly influenced by the city’s nature: that sun, that light, and that blue sky. The second component is, of course, us, the people of Málaga, with our welcoming and hospitable character, because Málaga is a place where smiles are on the street”.

For him, one of the keys to the city’s great development is that “Málaga is a city that has embraced culture as a mechanism for the future”.

We couldn’t resist asking this expert what piece of art one must not miss if they truly want to understand the essence of the city. “At the museum, we have approximately 55% Andalusian artworks. One of my personal favorites is the painting ‘The Fountain of Reding,’ painted by Guillermo Gómez Gil, a Málaga-born painter, which was the piece that inspired Carmen Thyssen to begin building this new collection”.

Besides the Carmen Thyssen Museum of Málaga, the city offers a vast range of possibilities. Javier shares one final recommendation:

“I would recommend a church located behind the museum; it’s called the Church of the Martyrs, and it’s truly a spectacle to visit. Additionally, for those wanting to delve into Málaga’s culture, I would recommend taking a tour of the cofradías’ house-museums, many of which hold a rich heritage”.

If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of visiting Málaga, our new episode of Vincci Talks: The Art of Living Málaga, will give you the reasons you need to pack your bags.
