Vincci Hotels receives the Sustainability and Commitment Award at the Alcobendas Avanza 2025 Gala

The hotel chain has received this award in recognition of its contribution to economic growth and sustainability through responsible and environmentally respectful practices. This new accolade adds to the distinctions Vincci Hoteles has earned since its beginnings, consolidating its commitment to sustainable and responsible tourism within the hospitality sector.

Vincci Hoteles has received the Sustainability and Commitment Award at the 2nd Alcobendas Avanza 2025 Gala, held this Thursday, October 23, in Madrid. This recognition honors companies that integrate sustainability, innovation, and social responsibility into their growth model. The event was hosted by the Mayor of Alcobendas, Rocío García Alcántara.

The award, presented by the Vice President of CEPYME, Laly Escudero, was collected by César Pérez Araque, Director of Quality and Sustainability at the hotel chain. “This award reaffirms Vincci Hoteles’ commitment to a more responsible and conscious form of tourism. Sustainability is and must remain a cross-cutting axis of all our decisions and processes. We believe in a hotel model where service excellence goes hand in hand with respect for the environment and social contribution in every destination where we operate.” declared César Pérez during his speech at the gala, which was also attended by Carlos Calero, CEO and General Director of Vincci Hoteles.



The Alcobendas Avanza Awards were created to highlight the spirit of local development and success, recognizing companies and institutions that generate employment, foster innovation, advance sustainability, and leave a positive mark on their surroundings. The “Sustainability and Commitment” category specifically honors organizations that have successfully integrated environmental responsibility into their growth model.

Sustainability: A Core Pillar in Vincci Hoteles’ Strategy

This recognition comes after a particularly significant year for Vincci Hoteles, during which the company consolidated its ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) strategy and renewed its Ecostars certification, the hotel sustainability label endorsed by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC). This distinction recognizes the positive environmental impact of its establishments, evaluated through specific indicators such as energy consumption, responsible water use, CO₂ emissions, and the implementation of sustainable gastronomy options.



Among the most notable recent sustainability milestones, the chain has obtained the Energy Savings Certificate (CAE), reduced the use of single-use plastics, and participated in projects such as ‘Arroz Circular’ together with Nespresso, which transforms used coffee capsules from its hotels into agricultural compost for rice cultivation in the Ebro Delta. Once harvested, this rice returns to the group’s hotels, where it becomes part of the gastronomic offerings in their restaurants — completing the cycle of a more conscious economy.

In addition, over the past year the hotel group has strengthened its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by launching a Volunteering Plan that promotes active staff participation in initiatives aligned with these objectives.

Vincci Hoteles publishes an Annual Sustainability Report in line with the international standards of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), and holds additional certifications such as ISO 14001, ISO 50001, Travelife, and Biosphere. It has also been recognized with the Tourism Merit Medal in the category of Sustainability and Quality.

With this new award, Vincci Hoteles strengthens its role as a key player in the Spanish business ecosystem and as a benchmark for sustainable, high-quality tourism.
