Dates of the Cádiz Carnival 2025

The Carnival will officially begin on February 27, with the opening speech that kicks off the festivities. From then until March 9, the streets of Cádiz will be filled with costumes, chirigotas, and groups participating in the famous Official Competition of Carnival Groups (COAC).

Official Group Competition at the Gran Teatro Falla

One of the most anticipated moments of the carnival is the Official Group Competition, held at the iconic Gran Teatro Falla. This event brings together numerous groups competing for the top spot in different categories, such as chirigotas, comparsas, and romanceros, among others.

Most famous parades of the Cádiz Carnival

'Grand Magna' parade
The Grand Magna Parade is one of the main events. For many, it is the most fun moment of the entire Carnival, as it is filled with picturesque groups that represent a wide variety of themes.

This event celebrates one of the most representative and intense flavors of the region: the sea urchin. The Erizada 2025 takes place on January 26, starting at 12:30 PM, in the Barrio de la Viña.

At The Ostionada 2025, fresh oysters are offered to attendees, accompanied by traditional local wines. It takes place on February 2, starting at 1:00 PM, in the Plaza de San Antonio.

XXI Popular Mejillonada
At The Mejillonada 2025, mussels—one of the star products—take center stage for the day. It takes place on February 9, starting at 1:00 PM, at the Peña La Perla de Cádiz.

XXIV Popular Gambada
