Vincci Soma Renovates Its Restaurant: A Bright and Cozy Space in the Heart of Salamanca District

Vincci GastronomyVincci Soma 4* has not only renovated its restaurant with a design that maximizes natural light and highlights the warmth of noble materials, but it has also enhanced its functionality to offer a versatile and welcoming experience. The renovation has transformed the space into a true urban retreat where wood, greenery, and carefully chosen lighting create a sophisticated and relaxing atmosphere.
The hotel Vincci Soma 4* showcases the transformation of its first-floor restaurant, a comprehensive redesign by Estudio B76 that redefines the concept of space, making it a landmark in gastronomy and design on Goya Street.
With the aim of attracting not only guests but also residents and visitors of the vibrant Salamanca district, a warm and natural atmosphere has been created where wood, light, and vegetation play starring roles.
The biggest challenge of this renovation was to transform a space on the first floor, without direct street access, into an attractive and welcoming environment. To achieve this, the project maximizes natural light coming through its large south-facing windows, turning the dining room into an “interior terrace.”
The new aesthetic of Restaurante SoMa emphasizes the warmth of natural materials: oak clads walls and ceilings, creating an enveloping ambiance, while planters with ficus Lira from Hobby Flower bring freshness and a green touch. The vinyl wallpapers from Dolz Collection and curved wall panels from Materio contribute to the sense of comfort and sophistication.

The furniture has been carefully selected to enhance the cozy character of the space. Terrazzo tables by RMC, paired with curved benches upholstered in Crevin fabrics, combine with wood and metal pieces by Dadra, alongside a varied selection of chairs from Kave Home and Vical. On the floor, a Naturtex rug adds warmth and texture.
The restaurant is organized into distinct areas that allow enjoying the space at any time of day. The bar area, separated from the dining room by planters, is divided into three differentiated zones: the bar counter, high tables, and the cozy “fire place”.
The bar stands out with its sophisticated design, combining oak wood with metal structures, textured glass, and bronze mirrors. The high tables, equipped with Dadra furniture, offer a flexible space for informal meetings or moments of rest. Finally, the “fire place” corner, centered around a water vapor fireplace by Lumbre, invites relaxation with sofas and Expormim furniture.

One of the major challenges of the renovation was to optimize the buffet service without affecting the restaurant experience. To do this, Estudio B76 designed a dedicated space with continuous countertops that can hide food stations behind an elegant Gancedo curtain when not in use. The cold and hot tables, by Kitchen Consult, guarantee efficient service without compromising the aesthetic.
The redesigned restaurant is complemented by a renewed gastronomic proposal that maintains SoMa’s essence: contemporary cuisine with seasonal ingredients. The new menu includes dishes blending old and new techniques, such as aged picanha carpaccio with tartare dressing, beef tenderloin with creamy chestnut, or cocido ramen with its meat and rice noodles. Additionally, every Friday they serve the traditional Madrid cocido in three courses, as a nod to local cuisine.
Regarding the beverage offering, Vincci Soma’s restaurant presents a revamped wine list combining prestige and accessibility. The current wine list features iconic labels like PSI Special Edition, Viña Tondonia, Remelluri Reserva, and Flor de Pingus, alongside a curated selection of wines from small local producers and international labels from emblematic regions such as Burgundy, Bordeaux, and northern Italy, offering a sophisticated and diverse wine experience.

With this renovation, Vincci Soma 4* strengthens its commitment to excellence in hospitality and design, offering a space where aesthetics and functionality coexist in perfect harmony. A place where light, noble materials, and gastronomy create a unique experience in the very heart of Madrid.
As for the new SoMa menu, it’s designed to surprise with dishes that awaken the senses. Among the starters are options like aged picanha carpaccio with tartare dressing and egg yolk emulsion, or Jerusalem artichoke cream with black truffle, hazelnut oil, and Soria torrezno. For mains, you can find dishes such as beef tenderloin with creamy chestnut, shimeji mushrooms, and truffle oil, and almadraba bluefin tuna maguro with egg and crispy crystal shrimp.
The menu also pays tribute to street food with offerings like cocido ramen with meat, rice noodles, and chickpeas, or pork gyozas with crispy ear and japobrava sauce. Vegetarians have their own section with dishes like eggplant meatballs with beetroot tomato faux and feta crumbs or caprese gnocchi.
