The restaurant of Vincci Selección Posada del Patio 5* has once again hosted this culinary event dedicated to participants over 60 years old, with the goal of preserving Málaga’s gastronomic legacy. During the day, Entremuros Restaurant became the stage where emotions, memories, and tradition simmered together to create an unforgettable experience.



The five-star hotel Vincci Selección La Posada del Patio 5* hosted, on Monday 20 October, the awards ceremony of the 2nd edition of “Flavours of Memory”, an initiative organized in collaboration with the City Council of Málaga, aimed at preserving and celebrating Málaga’s traditional cuisine through its greatest custodians — the city’s senior residents.

The event also served as the official presentation of the newly renovated Entremuros Restaurant – Roots of Málaga, a gastronomic space where tradition and innovation meet to pay tribute to timeless local flavours. Following a careful aesthetic and conceptual transformation, the restaurant celebrates the province through local, seasonal produce and family recipes that evoke both appetite and emotion — dishes that, fittingly, were brought to life for this very occasion.



In this second edition of “Flavours of Memory,” a total of 30 participants aged over 60 prepared their most cherished recipes in the Entremuros kitchen, sharing not only ingredients and methods but also the personal stories and memories tied to each dish.

A panel composed of representatives from Málaga City Council, culinary experts, and members of the Vincci Hoteles team selected the winning proposals in the following categories:

· Recipe that best represents the Flavours of Málaga’s Culinary Memory: Trinidad’s pintarroja fish soup, a humble yet traditional dish rooted in the city’s identity.
· Tastiest and most flavorful dish: Encarna’s noodle casserole, recognized for its blend of sea and garden ingredients.
· Sweetest creation: Grandma Josefa Ángeles’ flan.
· Most endearing and collaborative cook: Dolores’ paella, honoured for her enthusiasm and team spirit.
· Special Entremuros – Roots of Málaga Award:Victoria’s Viña AB soup, a recipe born from a 1935 creation by her father at Málaga’s historic restaurant La Alegría.



As part of the celebration, the winning recipes will be featured as a special tasting menu at Entremuros – Roots of Málaga from 1 November and throughout the winter season, available both in their traditional form and in a contemporary reinterpretation by the hotel’s chefs. The menu aligns perfectly with the restaurant’s overall philosophy: honouring Málaga’s culinary roots while updating them with elegance and authenticity — no excess, just flavour and identity.

The restaurant’s commitment to local ingredients and collaboration with small regional producers has earned it the prestigious Sabor a Málaga seal, certifying its dedication to sustainability and the promotion of local gastronomy.

Through this initiative, Vincci Hoteles continues to strengthen its connection with local culture and the gastronomic heritage of each destination, turning every stay into a sensory journey through taste. “Flavours of Memory” has now become a well-established event in Málaga, celebrating the cuisine of the past and the stories that keep it alive.

Vincci Selección La Posada del Patio 5* (Pasillo de Santa Isabel 7) is a hotel full of history that has witnessed the passing of multiple cultures through the centuries.
