Obtaining this certification endorses the hotel chain’s commitment to crime prevention, transparency, and regulatory compliance, having implemented an effective management system to prevent criminal risks in its operations.

Vincci Hoteles continues to strengthen its responsible and sustainable management model with the acquisition of a new certification that demonstrates its commitment to preventing corporate criminal offenses and good corporate governance. The hotel chain has received the UNE 19601:2017 certificate from the independent entity TÜV Rheinland, which acknowledges the correct implementation of a criminal compliance management system in the company.

This recognition reflects the organization’s efforts to establish a framework that identifies, assesses, and controls potential criminal risks arising from its activity, through policies and preventive procedures aimed at detecting and avoiding any type of non-compliance. The system implemented at Vincci Hoteles includes specific measures to ensure ethical conduct at all levels, guaranteeing legal compliance and helping to build trust among customers, employees, partners, and suppliers.

The official certificate presentation took place on Tuesday, June 24, at an event held in Madrid. It was presented by Marian Sánchez, Director of the Certification Systems Area at TÜV Rheinland Spain, and Romina Prado, Commercial Director of the same division. Representing Vincci Hoteles, the certification was received by César Pérez, Director of Quality and Sustainability at the company, and Estrella Marugán, Chair of the Criminal Compliance Committee.

“This certificate is a tangible demonstration of our firm commitment to regulatory compliance and to a management approach based on responsibility, prevention, and transparency. Since our beginnings, at Vincci Hoteles we have been committed to building a strong ethical culture, and this new milestone is a natural part of that journey,” stated César Pérez.

For her part, Estrella Marugán pointed out: “At Vincci Hoteles we understand compliance as a cross-cutting commitment that involves the entire organization. The UNE 19601 certification is a recognition of the collective effort to create a work environment where ethics and legality are fundamental and daily principles.”

She also expressed her gratitude for the collaboration of Consultora Auren, for accompanying them throughout the process and with whom they developed a specific tool to ensure monitoring and control of their compliance system.

The UNE 19601:2017 certification is Spain’s main standard for implementing criminal compliance management systems. Based on international ISO models and aligned with the legal requirements of the Spanish Penal Code, this standard enables organizations to establish effective policies to prevent crimes and reduce legal risks in their operations.

From TÜV Rheinland, an international certification body with over 150 years of history, special value was placed on the involvement of the Vincci Hoteles team throughout the entire audit process, as well as their clear focus on continuous improvement and the consolidation of a compliance culture.

This new achievement adds to the various initiatives that Vincci Hoteles has launched as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility Plan and its strong commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), where business ethics plays a central role.
