Bilbao

Located at Calle Alameda Mazarredo 22, Vincci Consulado de Bilbao 4* is set between the Isozaki towers and the Guggenheim Museum in one of the city's most cosmopolitan districts.

The neighbourhood is modern and trendy and has lovely squares and attractive avenues. This district where traditional buildings stand alongside properties with futuristic designs and the Guggenheim Museum is the hallmark of a revolutionary movement that's breaking the mould.

The hotel's extraordinary location right next to the old town means guests can thoroughly enjoy the many things that Bilbao has to offer. With 13 storeys and 5 underground floors, the building opens in two directions to face La Salve bridge and the Guggenheim Museum and features a terrace observatory with one of the most impressive views of the estuary that shapes the building's profile.

Brief Leisure

  1. The Guggenheim Museum, located very close to the Vincci Consulado Hotel in Bilbao, becomes one of the best cultural possibilities offered by an open and cosmopolitan city.
  2. The museum, designed by the famous architect Frank Gehry, stands as a futuristic banner on the banks of the estuary, covered by titanium panels that change color according to the time of day. Once inside, the visitor can find the most interesting international cultural exhibitions.
  3. In a visit to this futuristic palace you can not miss a greeting to Puppy, the friendly puppy designed by Jeff Koons, which is covered entirely by fresh flowers, earning the title of mascot of the city.

Tourist Route

  1. Bilbao has left behind its industrial past to offer a wide and varied offer to the traveler who wants to know the city, get lost in its streets and get carried away by its history, its culture, the warmth of its people and its gastronomy.
  2. Casco Viejo: with its narrow and winding streets, Casco Viejo is the medieval center that gave birth to the city. With numerous historic buildings, nothing like stopping at Plaza Nueva and savoring the hustle and bustle of a vibrant city full of life.
  3. Teatro Arriaga: its beautiful facade receives the visitor who crosses the bridge that connects Casco Viejo with the Ensanche. Built at the end of the 19th century, it was destroyed by fire and rebuilt in 1914 and renovated in the 1980s. Today it remains undisturbed over time.
  4. Iglesia de San Antón: this majestic 15th century temple is an emblem that forms part of the city's coat of arms. When it is getting dark, the light on its facade dyes the adjacent San Anton Bridge red.
  5. Mercado de La Ribera: very close to the church of San Antón is this market, which with its 10,000 square meters is considered the largest covered market in Europe. A meeting place for merchants since the 14th century, its art-deco style hides an interior illuminated by stained glass windows and wonderful stalls that hide the secret of Basque gastronomy.
  6. Puente Bizkaia: also known as the Hanging Bridge, built in 1893, it was the first ferry bridge in the world and today is a wonder included in the list of UNESCO World Heritage. A magnificent engineering work reminiscent of the Eiffel Tower.
  7. Museo de Bellas Artes: for lovers of culture, the Museum of Fine Arts becomes an essential part of the visits to Bilbao. Inside its walls there are more than 10,000 works of art, made from the 13th century to the present day. Artists of all nationalities give the visitor an unbeatable display of his art so that he can appreciate it in all its splendor.
  8. Mirador de Artxanda: from the heights, Bilbao seems even more beautiful. This viewpoint, which can be accessed by car, walking or funicular, offers one of the best views of the city. Romanticism in its purest form.
