Vincci Selección Aleysa Boutique&Spa 5* chosen as the best 5-star hotel in Spain in the “Trivago Awards 2018”

Vincci Selección Aleysa Boutique&Spa 5*, located in Benalmádena (Málaga), heads the ranking published by trivago of the ten 5-star hotels with the best online reputation in Spain. The list is made up of hotels that stand out for the excellence and luxury they offer their guests.

For the third year running our property has been recognised as the best hotel in Spain in its category in the “Trivago Awards”. The quality of the service and the range of services offered to our guests have made this recognition possible, one which is in addition to that of Best Beach Hotel, which it’s won for the last two years, also in the rankings published by trivago.

“Simply perfect”, “Spectacular” and “The best hotel so far” are just some of the comments internet users have written about our boutique hotel, placing it every year at the top of the rankings drawn up by the main digital platforms in the tourism sector, such as Trivago or TripAdvisor. In this edition of the “Trivago Awards” the data used to choose the winning hotels in the 5-star category come from the trivago Rating Index® (tRI), which aggregates more than 175 million opinions from around the world. Through a complex algorithm, the tRI combines the ratings available on other websites for each hotel, updating daily, to obtain a precise, impartial result. All the winning hotels have at least 20 opinions about them.

What makes Vincci Selección Aleysa Boutique&Spa 5* such a special hotel?

Our hotel stands out thanks to its unique and exclusive 5-star boutique hotel concept, and for its privileged location right by the beach on the shores of the Mediterranean. It offers 35 exquisite, elegant, spacious rooms which are designed to supersede the expectations of the most demanding guests, while the Alamar Alta Cocina Restaurant offers a fusion of local cuisine and international flavours in a creative, natural manner. The Oshum Spa, one of the finest facilities in the region for wellness fans, perfectly complements the other amenities at the hotel, which is well known for offering a wonderfully different experience, with guests able to make use of services such as a butler or a courtesy vehicle, among others.

The repeat customer rate, at over 50%, is another clear sign of the satisfaction of the guests. For the hotel’s director, Sara González, the key to this success is “the dedication to excellence and the hard work of a team that is focused on providing exclusive, personalised attention to each and every guest”. As she herself explains, “we take care to ensure each and every person who stays at Vincci Selección Aleysa Boutique&Spa has everything they need to make their stay unforgettable. We try to find out about their likes and interests so we have a little something for them when they arrive. For example, we try to make each guest’s stay even more pleasant, with little touches that are free of charge (scales in the bathroom, hair straighteners, DVD player, pillow and mattress menu, reading lights, butler service for unpacking, etc.). Because, according to González, “the basic idea is that the word ‘NO’ doesn’t exist for our guests. For every request there are solutions, or at least for almost all of the ones our guests have”.

Equally, if a guest mentions that they’re celebrating a special occasion, we don’t hesitate to ensure the room is prepared perfectly. “If a guest tells us they’re celebrating an anniversary, straight away, and free of charge for them, we’ll decorate the room romantically, and treat them to a bottle of cava. And if they’re coming to celebrate a birthday, we’ll have a cake ready for them when they arrive, and so on”. What’s more, “if the guests are a family with babies with them, we make a whole range of services and items available for them, at no cost, to make their stay easier, and above all so they can travel with fewer items, such as bottle sterilizers, bath seats, etc.”

The personalised service doesn’t end when you check-out. “After a guest’s stay, we try to keep in contact with then. We usually send Christmas cards to our most regular guests, which they love and allows us to keep in touch. Equally, we get on so well with some of our recurring clients that it’s common for them to send us mails, asking us how we are, or what the weather is like here, because where they are from it tends not to be so nice”, says Sara González.

A hotel with an outstanding online reputation

Furthermore, Vincci Selección Aleysa has been recognised on various occasions in the TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Hotels awards. We’ve placed first in the luxury hotels category, most recently in 2015, and first place in the category of best hotels for two years. TripAdvisor is the largest online tourism platform in the world, with more than 60 million members and around 170 million opinions from users and guests in the tourism sector. That’s why it has become the main interactive forum, where users can share opinions and valuations.

Sara González says: “In terms of online reputation, our guests’ opinions are our best advertising. We read them all, every day, and take note of the opinions of the users and, personally, I take satisfaction in responding to all the comments provided. This allows you to build more personal relationships with the users, by giving them a response to their remarks”. She also highlighted that “they are also valuable recognition for all the staff who make up the team at Vincci Selección Aleysa 5*, because we appreciate that they have a direct relationship with the effort we make every day to ensure every single one of our guests has a pleasant stay.
