Three months ago we suggested on our Facebook page that you participate in “No Name, No Game!”, a contest through which we offered our friends on this social network the opportunity to name the new establishment that Vincci Hotels will open in 2012 in the very heart of Barcelona.
If from among the entries we received we found a name that fit the criteria Vincci Hotels was looking for, the author of the suggestion selected would have the honor of being one of the new establishment’s first guests, enjoying a free weekend stay for two people, in a double room, with breakfast included.
In just a few weeks we received over 270 surprising, original, and fun ideas that have made the selection process a very complex task. Finally, after much arduous deliberation, the ad hoc jury created for this initiative determined that the name selected will be Vincci Gala, an idea sent in to us by our friend Karina Rincón Fernández.
Why Vincci Gala?
In addition to the already existing positive connotations suited to the image of Vincci Hotels that the word “gala” brings to mind, one must also take into account a curious and special coincidence that could not be ignored, especially considering the suitability to a hotel located in Barcelona: Gala was the name of the wife and muse of Salvador Dali, one of the most major Spanish geniuses of all time, and closely tied to the City of Counts and Cataluna.
Gala was refined, evocative, and inspirational. Karina reminded us of this in her entry. And we want the new hotel Vincci Gala to be this way as well.
We hope that via this contest you all felt like an active part of the birth of this new member of the Vincci family. We hope you know that behind the name Vincci Gala there is a little bit of each one of you.
