Our new hotel in Málaga will be located on one of the city’s main shopping streets, Calle Larios, at number 10. The four-star boutique hotel will be housed in a 3,500 square metre building, boasting seven floors. This will be our third hotel in the city and our fifth in the province.
Wonderful news, we have a new Vincci Hoteles project in Málaga! Our new property will be located at 10 Calle Larios, one of the city’s principal shopping streets. With this latest hotel we are bolstering our presence in the capital of the Costa del Sol, with this being our third hotel, in addition to our existing two: what was the first five-star hotel in Málaga, the Vincci Selección Posada del Patio 5* (Pasillo Santa Isabel 7) and Vincci Málaga 4* (C/Pacífico 44). And it will be our fifth hotel in the province of Málaga, with the others being Vincci Selección Estrella del Mar 5* (Marbella) and Vincci Selección Aleysa Boutique & Spa 5* (Benalmádena).
Our new hotel in Málaga will be a four-star boutique hotel, with its own unique character, just like every Vincci Hoteles property. The building boasts 3,500 square metres, spread over seven floors. Reception will be on the ground floor, and the 76 rooms are distributed from the first to the fifth floors. The sixth floor will house a restaurant, with open-air terrace, and the seventh a terrace with solarium and plunge-pool
Located in a building dating from 1821, the renovation works are in line with Vincci Hoteles’ commitment to converting important architectural structures that have fallen into disuse, in order to give them another lease of life and integrate them once again into the cities where they are found. This building was home, from the start of the 20th century, to Almacenes Gómez Raggio, one of the city’s principal department stores, until it closed at the end of the century. The hotel is forecast to open during 2020.
The property in question is excellently located, as is the norm for Vincci Hoteles, being located at the intersection of three important streets in Málaga’s historic centre: Marqués de Larios, Mesón de Vélez and Marín de García. Calle Larios is one of the city’s emblematic thoroughfares, an icon of Málaga and considered one of Spain’s most elegant 19th century streets. Inaugurated in 1891, it was designed by Eduardo Strachan, with its origins reaching back to 1880 and the public tender to demolish the Arabic layout of the street and, in addition to modernising it, connect the Port of Málaga with the centre. The public tender was organised by the sale of shares, with the Marques of Larios acquiring 90% of the offer, hence the name which has come down to our time.
