At Vincci Hoteles we wanted to find out if our guests are all about romance, hearts, flowers and kisses, or if, on the other hand, they think the whole Valentine’s Day thing is a lot of nonsense. And though we’re sure that if there was the chance of a weekend away, romantic or not, few would say no, we discovered, in a poll on social media, that the majority of our followers have little time for Cupid.
Why? There could be lots of reasons: no interest in romance, wanting to avoid buying gifts, or maybe because the winged, boyish god is to blame for them losing one of their friends. Hands up who hasn’t had a good pal who found love and disappeared!
Given the situation, we here at Vincci Hoteles have looked for a solution. And we’ve decided to try and reunite these ‘disappeared lovers’ with their ‘orphaned’ group of friends, by means of a competition: #AmigoProdigo, or lost friend. To take part, the group should send their missing friend a message on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram: whether it’s wishing them a happy 40th, or simply openly declaring friendship. We want your friend, party companion and confidante to go back to being what they were before.
Your message, always with a touch of humour, can be a tweet, a video or a picture. Upload a photo that will bring back memories, send them a Vine, a GIF or a video-message… and let them know how much you miss them and what you’d do to have them back!
Here are details of the competition, which is only open to our followers on social media:
- If you’re taking part on Facebook. Comment on the competition photo with a message to your friend, mentioning them, and use the hashtag #AmigoProdigo. (Please use the hashtag in Spanish, as it means we know who is taking part!)
- If you’re taking part on Instagram. Comment on the competition photo with a message to your friend, mentioning them and using the hashtag #AmigoProdigo.
- If you’re taking part on Twitter. Post a Tweet, photo or video, mentioning your friend and using the hashtag #AmigoProdigo and mentioning us or tagging us in the photo (if you post one).
The winner will receive a dinner for six friends in one of the chain’s 36 hotels that have a restaurant (with the exception of Vincci Selección Aleysa BoutiqueSpa 5* Málaga; Vincci Valdecañas Golf 4*; Vincci Selección Envía Almería Wellness & Golf 5* Almería; and Vincci Ciudad de Salamanca 4* Salamanca).
