Luxury restaurants in Madrid

  • Diverxo. The outstanding success of the Michelin Guide 2014, it’s the only establishment in Madrid with three stars. A luxury restaurant that rapidly hit the culinary heights at the hands of David Muñoz, a young chef who, several years ago, decided to break with traditional cooking, and as of today is still in constant evolution. He creates, as he says himself, food that is ‘fun, surprising and with heaps of flavour”. Diverxo is at Padre Damián 23, close to Plaza de Cuzco.

  • Club Allard. Simple yet original recipes are found on the restaurant’s three menus: ‘Rendezvous, ‘Seduction’ and ‘Revolution’; three concepts perfectly described by their names. After 10 years as head chef, Diego Guerrero left his apron behind and set off on his own; now his disciple Maria Marte is in charge of maintaining the exquisite culinary standards recognised by the Michelin Guide with two stars. You’ll find it at number 2, Calle Ferraz.

  • Kabuki Wellington. A fusion of Asian and Mediterranean food. The sushi of Ricardo Sanz and the desserts from Oriol Balaguer are the stars of the show in this exclusive Japanese restaurant. Where? In Calle Velázquez 6.
  • Kabuki. To be found at Number 2, Avenida President Carmona. Here too you’ll find Asian cooking with a touch of originality, this time at the hand of Mario Payán.
  • Santceloni. After the passing away of prestigious chef Santi Santamaria, Óscar Velasco took over as the head of this restaurant located in Paseo de la Castellana, 57. Freshness and flavour are his watchwords for every dish. As his website explains, it is: “excellence at the table”.

  • La Terraza del Casino. With Ferrán Adrià as consultant and gastronomic director and Paco Roncero as chef what would you expect? Simply, success. With a Michelin Star, it’s luxury embodied as a restaurant. The dishes are distinctive, creative, original and innovative. Since 1998 it’s been looking out at Madrid from number 15, Calle Alcalá, in the famous Casino de Madrid.

  • Sergi Arola Gastro. Despite closing for a time three years ago, it continues to be one of the most exclusive restaurants in Madrid. It has its own cocktail menu, a tea selection, various menus, select wines and even a range of homemade breads. The aim of prestigious chef Sergi Arola? That a visit to his restaurant is a unique experience.
  • Ramón Freixa Madrid. As the website says: “We don’t confuse youth with a lack of maturity…” Ramón Freixa uses tradition as his base to create new, surprising recipes, plated with his characteristic humorous touch. The perfectionism of the chef extends to the restaurant: minimalistic, refined, elegant and located in Madrid’s Golden Mile, at Claudio Coello 67.
  • Álbora. The sea, the vegetable garden and the mountain are the source of the restaurant’s raw materials. This exclusive establishment, located in the heart of the Barrio de Salamanca offers market-fresh food, created using products of the highest quality, with respect for seasonal flavours. At a table, at the bar, or out on the terrace? You choose where you’ll accompany your food with one of more than 600 wines.
  • La Cabra. This culinary hotspot is headed up by Javier Miranda, the youngest chef to garner a Michelin star. His philosophy is based on innovation and commitment, and is evident in every dish: full of details, subtle touches and elegance. La Cabra is pure luxury in a restaurant, at Calle Francisco de Rojas, 2.
  • DSTAgE. In an industrial, modern atmosphere, you can delight in the prestigious cooking of Diego Guerrero. The chef makes it easy for the diners, who only have to choose between two alternatives: DSTAgE 10 (88€) and DSTAgE 14 (118 €). The quality of the produce and the knowledgeable creativity of the maestro chef have been key in achieving a Michelin star.
  • Punto MX. The only Mexican restaurant in the world to be awarded a Michelin star. Traditional products, with a different slant, quite out of the ordinary, have made this the Mexican restaurant par excellence. If you want to try their cocktails, reinvented with Mezcal, head to General Pardiñas 40.
  • Lúa. The new name in 2016, it’s the latest restaurant in Madrid to join the high gastronomic flyers. Manuel Domínguez has created a version 2.0 of home-spun Galician cooking. A highlight? You’ll never eat the same thing: the tasting menu changes according to what’s available, adapting to the seasonal produce.
