What to do in Roquetas de Mar
This region of Almería has a rich natural heritage, an example of which are the beautiful beaches with crystal clear waters. We’d recommend you go for a swim at the beach of Aguadulce, seven kilometres from our hotel. It’s an urban beach, but extremely tranquil and it boasts a blue flag. You can also explore virgin beaches such as Rompidillo or Cerrillos – San Agustín.

The ecological importance of Roquetas is best seen in the Punta Entinas-Sabinar Nature Reserve, a landscape of dunes, beaches and spectacular lagoons. There are a number of routes in the area, either walking or on bike, and you can see animals, especially birds, that many will have never seen before.

Roquetas de Mar’s three proudest treasures are: its beaches, its nature reserve, mentioned above, and its history. A history crowned by the Castle of Santa Ana, a military fortification with Arabic origins located by the lighthouse, which today houses exhibitions and cultural events.

Take a walk around the old town and make sure you visit, among other landmarks, the church of Nuestra Señora del Rosario, the town hall and the port, where you’ll find fresh fish brought in every day by the local fishermen.
As to entertainment, Roquetas de Mar offers a wide range of activities. Over 13 kilometres of beachfront promenade you can dine in the many restaurants on offer, or on the beach try your hand at watersports such as windsurf or sailing a catamaran.
