To travel it is not always necessary to pack your suitcase and head off to another destination. Sometimes, sitting at a table and enjoying special and different food can be the best of travels. It´s what the restaurant Vincci Soma 4*, the soMa Restaurant is trying to do, having just launched a unique gastronomic route that travels through the most fascinating flavors of Mediterranean and fusion cuisine.

Under the name “La ruta de tapas” (The tapas route) the soMa Restaurant offers a new menu that combines the best of both cuisines and, also, offers the possibility of combining snacking with the sampling of the most elaborate dishes. A new menu that, without getting away from the restaurant´s philosophy based on Mediterranean inspired products and dishes with touches of fusion and avant-garde, it widens and complements the culinary offerings of soMa with an offering that is also particularly suitable if guests want to share their meal amongst each other.

In this way everyone can try and sample the new tapas on this gastronomical route that the soMa Restaurant, with chef Jorge Lacera at its head, has carefully chosen and worked hard on to satisfy the pallets of the most demanding.

This particular route works like this: first wet your appetite with three Mediterranean taps or three fusion tapas and then, choose a second. Although if you want to try everything you can opt for the sample menu that includes all the tapas while you enjoy some of the wines and beers from the menu. Whatever you like the most or feel like at the moment.

If you go for the first option and combine the tapas with a second, you can choose between two alternatives: The Mediterranean or the fusion. Each is made up of four tapas from which you can choose three. What changes are the flavors: more traditional in the case of the Mediterranean option, and bolder in the case of the fusion, but both equally exciting and delicious

So for starters one can have, among other tapas, potatoes with a duo of mojos or mini burgers with tomato wedges, caramelized onions, cured cheese and french fries. Later, continue with a light entrée such as buffalo mozzarella with rocket, smoked salmon and sweet mustard vinaigrette.

And for seconds, how about a blue fin tuna taco with marmitako cream, sautéed bean sprouts and pak choi? Although if you prefer meat, we recommend you try the beef tenderloin with sautéed rocket and an emulsion of wholegrain mustard. Sounds good, right?

And to finish, nothing is better than a good dessert. You are sure to salivate over our new homemade tiramisu or our old style caramel and sea salt ice cream.

The finishing touch to this meal is a good wine. We offer a wide and varied selection and among our red, white, rose, sparkling wines and champagnes, we have gems like Gaba de Xil Mencia 2009, Pintia 2006 and Quinta Apolonia 2010, among others.
