Contrasting with the sea, and directly behind Almería’s harbour, rises the historic jewel of the city, the impressive Alcazaba, Spain’s largest Moorish fortification, which offers the chance to step back in time. Almería is a city of contrasts, a place where sea and mountain converge and water and desert meet. Deserts like Las Tabernas, which has been used as the backdrop to more than 500 films.
