Almería is sun, beaches and a Mediterranean harbour. It’s also adventure sports, golf, cinematic landscapes, desert and history. To visit Almería is to live a kaleidoscope of unique experiences, which Vincci Hotels will help you to discover.
The beauty of the region’s beaches and coves is strung out over two hundred stunning kilometres. Of Almería’s coastal regions, including Poniente, Almería and Levante, one stands out. A place to lose yourself, an incredible landscape: the Nature Reserve of Cabo de Gata-Níjar. We’d recommend you spend at least a day there, to enjoy it’s varied coastline, with village beaches, coves and cliffs. The beaches of Los Genóveses, Monsul del Arco and San José are the best known, but, although they are harder to get to, we’d tempt you to try fascinating coves such as Cala Rajá, Cala de la Media Luna, Cala Carbón and Cala del Barronal. Unforgettable landscapes just 40 kilometres from the city of Almería itself.

Contrasting with the sea, and directly behind Almería’s harbour, rises the historic jewel of the city, the impressive Alcazaba, Spain’s largest Moorish fortification, which offers the chance to step back in time. You can see its imposing walls from every part of the city, and its ramparts offer views over the whole of Almería, as you can see in the opening photograph (used with the permission of Andalucía.org).

Almería is a city of contrasts, a place where sea and mountain converge and water and desert meet. Deserts like Las Tabernas, which has been used as the backdrop to more than 500 films. How would you like to spend a day as a cowboy? Vincci Hotels would recommend a trip to Mini Hollywood, to spend a marvellous day out in the Wild West. It’s both tourist attraction and a unique activity, where cowboys, gunfights, saloon brawls and can-can dancers will take to you back to the shootout era, in the spirit of the classic Westerns.

But, as we mentioned at the start, Almería also offers you plenty of sport to get you feeling fit and healthy. Thanks to the wide range of landscapes you can enjoy an equally diverse range of sports, from diving and water sports, to trekking, canoeing, cycling or golf.
The Andalusian city has become a reference point for golf lovers the world over. The province has amazing courses, with the backdrop of the desert or the Mediterranean. A true delight.
* The course at La Envía Golf.
One of the most spectacular courses, spread out over 36 hectares, is La Envía Golf. It’s a perfect oasis, sheltered in a valley in the folds of the Sierra de Gádor, which protects it from the wind and provides the ideal spot to enjoy a round. Our hotel Vincci Selección Envía Almería Wellness & Golf 5* Almería has direct access to the course, which you can see from many of the spacious rooms. Whether you want to start playing, or are looking to lower your handicap, you can do so in the golf school, where the teachers and professionals will be delighted to help you.
For food, Vincci Selección Envía Almería Wellness & Golf 5* Almería has a buffet style restaurant as well as the à la carte El Mirador. Both give you the chance to sample the flavours of the Almería region, such as shellfish, clams or the typical tapas, such as espeluznaos (potatoes with deep fried squid), chéringans (bread with alioli garlic sauce or tomatoes, topped with tuna, ham, Spanish omelette…) or fresh salad.
We’d also like to invite you to try our 5,000 square metre Nammu Área Spa, where you can relax in the indoor and outdoor pools. We have a range of beauty, aesthetic medicine and physiotherapy treatments, all carried out by dedicated professionals who are devoted to caring for your body and mind – so all you have to do is lie back and unwind.
Come and stay in one of our rooms with incredible views over the golf course, the swimming pool or the mountains and, with Vincci Hotels, come and get to know the city where the desert meets the sea…
