SoMa restaurant presents Paco and Lola

Last week we mentioned that our Prado18 Tapas and Lounge restaurant located in the Vincci Soho 4* was presenting a new menu.  But it isn´t the only thing our Madrid restaurants are launching.  Because our soMa Restaurant at the Vincci Soma 4* will be full of new things this April. Are you keen to find out?

Paco & Lola

The latest culinary proposal from soMa comes with its own name: Paco & Lola.  This is how the restaurant has decided to baptize its new special menu, ideal for sharing.

It´s a fun, fresh menu, ideal for these spring days that includes mille feuilles and creamy rice to whet the appetite and swordfish or veal scaloppini as a main course.  The dessert couldn´t be more appropriate for the season:   Torrija (French toast) with nougat ice cream.

To share

Feta cheese mille feuilles with roasted eggplant with chopped dried tomato and yogurt vinaigrette and old style mustard

Creamy rice with seasonal vegetables and shrimp, emulsified with traditional alioli sauce

To choose

Swordfish, marmitako cream, sautéed pak choi and bean sprouts

or

Timbale of veal scaloppini and mushrooms, mashed potatoes with garlic in its juice

Dessert

Traditional torrijas (french toast) nougat ice cream with injected fusion and nespresso coffee

And to accompany this menu, we could not but offer a wine that carries its own name: Paco and Lola 2010, a fresh, light and aromatic albariño, rich with pleasant notes of green apples, citrus, notes of aromatic herbs and a floral background.  It isn´t for nothing that the albariño is the most chic from Rías Bajas!

Don´t miss out on this fantastic menu, take advantage now and receive a special price when booking on our website: 35 Euros per person (VAT included) instead of 70 €.  An irresistible price, like our Paco and Lola.

Our new wine menu

The soMa wine list is also being renewed these days and in it, besides the spectacular Paco & Lola 2010, you´ll be able to find our large selection of white, pink, red, sparkling wines and champagnes.  Not to mention our “garage” wines or what is the same: wines made in small productions at high quality and from an extremely careful choice of grapes.

Enjoy wines such as Habla nº 8, ÀN/Anima Negra 2009, Dido 2008, Gaba do Xil Mencia 2009, Petalós  2009 and Sot Lefriec 2002.  Unique wines that put an ideal finishing touch to any meal.

Unique also is our selection of whites, roses, and reds that include, among others, wines such as Mar de Frades 2011, Quinta Apolonia  2010, Viña Esmeralda 2011, Gran Feudo 2011, De Casta  2011, Santa Digna 2011, Camins del Prirat 2009, Cepa 21 2007 and Pétalos 2009

Among our famous vintage wines are Arzuaga  2008, Celeste Roble  2010 and Viña Real Crianza 2008.  Beside our reserves and gran reserves you can enjoy the Gran Reserva 904 1997, Imperial  2005 or La Vicalanda 2003.

And we can´t forget the sparkling wines and champagnes where the list includes names like Castillo de Perelada Brut, Taittinger Brut Reserve and, of course, Möet Chandon.

Mediterranean inspiration with touches of fusion and avant garde

Fusion, avant garde and healthy and balanced mediterranean cuisine are hallmarks of soMa´s cuisine.  The restaurant, headed by Chef Jorge Lacera, offers a carefully elaborated and thought out menu that is constantly being renewed.

Listed among our starters, you can find goat cheese timbale and papaya with honey vinaigrette and poppies; waffle stuffed with mi-cuit foit, lyo strawberries, sechuan pepper, yoghurt and salt flakes; and beef carpaccio with rocket pesto.

The meats and fish are other strong points of soMa´s cuisine where you´ll find delicacies like Iberian shoulder cut with argentine sauce and boiled potatoes, sirloin with sautéed rocket leaves and old mustard emulsion, fillet of wild sea bass with marinated mushrooms and vegetables served with slow cooked code blood sausage with onion and reinette apple with caramelized onion and pine nuts.

And last but not least a good dessert.  We´re sure you won´t be able to resist ours: old-fashioned caramel ice-cream and salt with crumble topping and dehydrated banana, diced granny smith apples confited in their liqueur with lime sherbet, homemade tiramisu and chocolate mini-fondant with passion fruit sherbet.  We weren’t exaggerating when we said it would be impossible to resist!

Lovers of tapas won´t want to miss either that for a few months soMa will also offer the chance to explore the most fascinating flavors of Mediterranean and fusion cooking with its `Tapas route´.

This particular culinary trip combines snacking with sampling of more elaborate dishes and lets you whet your appetite with three Mediterranean tapas or three fusion tapas and then choose a main course.  Although if you want to try them all the best option is to choose the sampling menu that includes all the tapas from the menu combined with our wines and beers.

The tapas are never a disappointment:  Marinated tuna with salmorreta emulsion and sprouts; naturally-cooked marinated mussels with confited potatoes; potatoes with tow dips; baby shrimp fritters with aioli; if you choose the Mediterranean option, and mini-spring rolls with mint get and lettuce heart leaves; mini-burger with tomato slices, caramelized onion, cured cheese and our French fries; crisp prawns with sesame mayonnaise; and brochettes of lemon chicken with teriyaki sauce, if you go for the fusion option.  Variety to choose from, but always with soMa´s unique character.

If you come to visit, remember that the soMa restaurant can be found on the first floor of the Vincci Soma 4* (c/Goya, 79) in barrio de Salamanca in Madrid, and is open Monday thru Sunday at lunch and dinner time.  You can book by telephone 914 364 548 or directly here.  Remember it´s not necessary to be a hotel guest to eat in the restaurant.

We´re waiting!
