Salme’s Cup blows Gran Vía away

Salme’s Cup 2014, the charity golf tournament known as “The place where dreams come true” and considered among the funniest in the wold, was officially presented yesterday. The presentation event for the sixth edition of the tournament was attended by several well known faces, like football coaches Paco Jémez and Bernardo Schuster, who will compete against each other at the Buenavista golf course in Tenerife where, on May 24, will take place the traditional match between Guille’s friends and Sinacio’s friends.

Once again, Salme’s Cup amazed to all the attendees in the Compac Gran Vía theatre, where the event was held. Actors Javier Veiga, Leo Harlem, Nancho Novo, and actress Marta Hazas interpreted a fun theatrical play, followed by a Broadway-like musical. Over sixty dancers offered an incredible spectacle, reflecting all the Salme’s Cup attributes. The dancers were dressed as Iberia Express flight attendants –official airline for Salme’s Cup–,Tenerife tourists –where the event will take place–, nurses –alluding to Kern Pharma, the event’s sponsor–, delighting and making the audience laugh.

After the musical, the Salmerón brothers, Guillermo and Sinacio, event promoters, elaborated some of the details about what would be happening in Tenerife by the end of May. Carlos Alonso, Major of Tenerife and Silvia Mosquera, Commercial Director at Iberia Express attended the event and thanked the Salmer’s Cup organization the opportunity to contribute to this unique charity event. Raúl Díaz-Varela, CEO at Kern Pharma, was also present through videoconferencing, sending his regards from Korea.

Several stars attended the event and offered fun a press conference, including football coaches Paco Jémez and Bernardo Schuster, Olympic medallist Juan Antonio Corbalán, actor Francis Lorenzo, bullfighters Oscar Higares and Pepín Liria, and actress Verónica Mengod. All of them were delighted for taking part in such an exciting and solidary event.

During the presentation, details of this Salme’s Cup edition were offered. The tournament will take place from May 23 to May 25 at the Buenavista Golf course, in Northern Tenerife and very close to the Vincci Selección Buenavista Golf&Spa 5*GL; a course designed by the tournament’s honorary President, Severiano Ballesteros.

During the weekend, sports, culture and entertainment stars will get together to participate in the tournament. Divided on two teams of twelve, Guille’s friends vs. Sinacio’s friends, in the Ryder Cup’s spirit, they will compete in order to raise money for charity under the “Pay For your Mistakes” motto.

Under the honorary presidency of Seve Ballesteros, this charity tournament is the funniest in the Word, and is sponsored by Turismo de Tenerife, Islas Canarias, Kern Pharma and Iberia Express, also counting with the co-sponsorship of La Cosa de las Películas, Plus Ultra Seguros and Gant.
