We are pleased to announce that we’re going to have a new hotel in Portugal! It’ll be in the beautiful city of Oporto and will open at the end of 2014 and beginning of 2015. We’re already really excited!
The four star establishment will be located in the legendary building known as the “Bolsa del Pescado”, that was built in 1937 and was intended for the sale and conservation of this food. As such, it is located along the banks of the Duero river, in the center of Oporto’s old town, an urban center that was declared a World Heritage site by Unesco.
Even though it will undergo a complete remodeling, the process is intended to preserve the site’s original characteristics, a clear example of Portuguese modernism, but providing new, modern and comfortable facilities and services, along the lines that characterize Vincci Hotels.
The hotel will have 95 rooms, four of them suites, a restaurant with capacity for 88 persons, bar, three meeting rooms, gym, and rooftop terrace.
The architect José Carlos Cruz is in charge of the complete reform of this establishment that will have four floors and two underground levels distributed over a total area of more than 2.500 square meters.
